Dear Reader,

Psalm 139:13-16 (NIV)

For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.

These verses have been my life verses for me since I was very young. I didn’t find out until a few years ago that these verses were the exact ones that my mom prayed over me before I was adopted.

I love that God knew me before I was even born. He knew that my mother would have to give me up, but he already knew who my other mom was going to be.

Just like God knows every single day I will live. He also knows every single day everyone else will live too. That just amazes me so much.

What part of this passage sticks out to you?

    I love the part where it says I was woven in the depths of the earth. What a mystery that is! God is so good. Elizabeth, this is a very good blog so far!! Keep at it!

    I love this verse too. As a father, it always makes me think of all my children, how precious and precarious life is. Each and every one of us is important enough for God to know us this intimately. Amazing.

    He knit me together in my Mother’s womb. The God of the Universe designed me–every little thing about me, quirks and all. And that’s true for everyone I meet.
